South West Herts Model Railway Society Exhibition

Oxford & District Model Railway Club were invited to take two members layouts, Abingdon Carterton, to the South West Herts Model Railway society exhibition.

To help set up, we were allowed to arrive on the Friday to get layouts into position. A van was loaded and we arrived in Bushey near Watford at 7:30. The layouts were unloaded and set up as far as possible. Given that we are only an hour away, we drove back that evening knowing that the following morning the pressure would be reduced.

Early on Saturday, the team of operators assembled and we headed back to Bushey to give the layouts a test before the doors open.

A steady stream of visitors came through enjoying both layouts. It was great to see some familiar faces as well as talking to some new people.

All too soon it was 4:30 and time to pack both layouts up and head home.

Thanks to the members of the South West Herts Model Railway Society who made us feel very welcome.

We really enjoyed ourselves at the South West Herts Model Railway society exhibition, and look forward to attending again in the future.
