Didcot Railway Centre 2024
Over the weekend of the 22nd and 23rd June, the Didcot Railway Centre ran a railway modelling event alongside their usual stream attractions. The club was invited to attend with some of our layouts which were displayed in the transfer shed at the top of the site.
On the Friday before the exhibition, we arrived and unloaded using the centres new ramp. To save having to get the layouts moved around on pallet trucks, we had our own wagon to hand.
Saturday and Sunday went well. On display was our classic layout, Bossington. A GWR terminus layout of 1960s vintage. Carterton, one of our members layouts representing an actual halt on the Fairford branch. Oldstead Gate, our have-a-go layout. We also had the 90p layout and the Under the Bed layout on display showing what can be achieved in N scale. Details of our layouts can be found in our layouts section. We also handed out flyers for our upcoming exhibition.
At the end of Sunday, we reloaded the wagon and headed back to the ramp. There were headed back through the station and loaded up the van again.
Thanks to the Didcot Railway Centre for inviting us, and we look forward to returning in the future.
